Year 4 Trip to Dover museum 29.1.19

Year 4 Trip to Dover museum
Year 4 had a fantastic school trip to Dover Museum! They learnt lots of information around myths and legends to really inspire and spark their interests of the ‘Romans’ for the rest of the term. During the first part of the morning, they created fantastic models of a Medusa head out of clay. Before lunch, the children participated in a very fun and interactive drama workshop. They had to re-enact the story of Romulus and Remus as well as transform themselves into mythical creatures using all of the members in their group! Lastly, we had an exciting opportunity to look around the museum itself. The children enjoyed reading all the information on the screens as well as seeing life-like models of Romans! The children asked fantastic and interesting questions to the curators of the museum.

Year 6 Anderson shelter models

Anderson shelter models

Year 6 pupils have been very busy making these wonderful Anderson shelter models as part of their history lessons.  The challenge was to design and build a waterproof model that could withstand a 1 kg weight placed on top of it and large enough for a Lego person to fit in. I think year six rose to the challenge! Well done.
